SOFI TUKKER have joined forces with J Balvin on “Cook”. Built on punchy percussion and club-ready tempo, the track is clearly designed for an immediate, dancefloor-first impact. The press release notes that the collaboration had been in the works for a long time and grew out of both sides’ mutual admiration for each other’s artistry. The music video leans into a vibrant, colorful aesthetic that highlights the chemistry between the artists.
“Cook” was released on February 6, 2026. It is the duo’s first single released via Republic Records. Here’s how the group described the move in a statement for Billboard:
“…it wasn’t until we met the people at Republic that we decided we wanted to sign with a major label… We couldn’t be more excited to be at a place in our career where we know who we are, have built this ourselves, and now get to learn from and work with a whole new group of smart people to help us bring our visions to life. It’s a big step that’s been years in the making.“
“Cook” serves as a strong, party-starting introduction to a new chapter rather than a one-off release with no plan behind it. SOFI TUKKER will perform at Open’er Festival this year – on July 3, 2026, on the Tent Stage.
